Hey, I’m Hayley on Hiatus, an avid traveler on a mission to see the world! As a Brit living abroad, I grew up traveling, but it wasn’t until I booked my first group trip around Europe that I really caught the travel bug and never looked back!
Like many, I thought life should look a certain way, but after many 3 month long backpacking trips and solo jaunts across the globe, I realized I could follow any path I set my mind to.
After working in teaching for years, I started dabbling in marketing and writing on the side of my 9-5, and told myself that one day I’d have the freedom to work and travel when I wanted.
Fast forward a few years, and I’ve now visited over 37 countries, lived in 3, traveled to 4 continents, partnered with over 40 hotels worldwide, and have worked with some of the largest restaurant corporations, tourism boards, and airlines worldwide.
If you had told me 7 years ago that I’d be receiving invitations for press trips around the world, there’s no way I would have believed you! Through my travels, Hayley on Hiatus was born to inspire others to follow their dreams and work with hotels globally.
Since the inception of my European escapades in my early 20’s, my travel writing can be seen in: Time Out, Matador Network, Get Your Guide, Travel Off Path, and Hotels Above Par.
