Traveling to Spain in October 2022 for a press trip, we were told we’d be checking into the new Querencia De Sevilla Hotel. Newly opened in April 2022, I was intrigued to explore yet another member of the Autograph Collection Hotels brand.
As part of the Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio, Autograph hotels pride themselves on being exactly like nothing else. While this has been true for most I’ve visited, I was eager to find out what Querencia De Sevilla had to offer its guests.
With its warm climate and close proximity to other parts of the country, the colorful streets of Seville are filled with travelers many months out of the year. I was excited to explore to say the least!
To stand out from the crowd in a city as beautiful as Seville is no easy feat, yet the hotel managed to do just that. During my 4 days visiting, I was nothing but impressed with every part of my stay.
Checking into the Hotel
Upon entering, the region’s history and diversity are ever present in the small details, from the depictions of the bull to the gallery of relevant photographs lining the walls.
With its warm climate and close proximity to other parts of the country, the colorful streets of Seville are filled with travelers many months out of the year.
I was instantly greeted by several employees asking if I’d like a glass of cold water to beat the Spanish heat. Desks line the lobby space, making for an inviting, swift, and personal check-in experience.
Located in Seville’s most famous square, Querencia De Sevilla is a prime spot for those looking to be within close proximity to all of the restaurants and attractions.
I arrived at Seville Airport on a domestic flight from Lisbon, and was conveniently picked up by one of the hotel drivers. The drive was about 20 minutes or so, and Uber is also available in Seville. From the airport to the city will cost anywhere between $20-30 depending on traffic.
The local EA bus line picks up right outside of arrivals, and will bring you into the city for 4 euros one way. This will typically take 20-30 minutes.
Rooms and Amenities
The property features 95, stylish, guest rooms, all of which showcase the beauty of the region. Pops of greens and purples bring to life the rooms, portraying the vibrancy of the country.
Rooms feature rain showers, lavish bathtubs, and robes for guests. Handpicked scents of floral and orange bring to life the Sevillian culture.
Nods toward Spain’s history of bull-riding and fan making, are present in the artistic detailing in each room. There’s no need to leave the hotel to feel intimately connected to the lifestyle that is Seville.
Lemon yellow decor, a relaxing pool, and 360-degree views of Seville, is Querencia de Sevilla’s rooftop area. This space will make any guest feel connected to the colors, scents, and views of Spain.
The evening is when the magic happens, as the Cathedral lights up, the city sparkles, and laughter and cocktails are flowing all around. Order bar snacks and cocktails by day, or partake in lively conversation by night, as the rooftop fills with locals and guests alike.
There’s no better place to feel a piece of Andalusia than Querencia de Sevilla, Autograph Collection.
Dining at the Querencia
La Maestria Restaurant and Bar, is the perfect representation of the history and traditions of Seville. As you enter, the evolving culture of Seville is ever-present in the interiors.
Through local suppliers, the restaurant emphasizes traditional, Andalusian flavors through its intricate tapas dishes served on floral plates; typical of this region.
La Maestria has successfully incorporated long-established flavors into a unique gastronomical experience. The restaurant’s outside patio is a true oasis, showcasing colors that represent the famous citrus trees of Andalusia, with views of the main square.
(A breakfast buffet is also available in this space daily)
